1. Medical Officer for Yellow Fever Control, WHO AFRO
Duty Station: Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, 2 year contract (P4)
Duties: Implementing biennial workplans and budgets for activities in the countries at risk in the area of yellow fever surveillance and control, vaccine supply and quality, research and development, external relations and partnership coordination and administration; managing, monitoring and evaluating activities at the sub regional and regional levels, to achieve the targets within the agreed budget, etc. etc.
Requirements: Medical degree with postgraduate degree in epidemiology or public health. Several years experience in managing disease control programmes including immunization programmes. Extensive experience working in developing countries. Excellent knowledge of French, English or Portuguese, with a good working knowledge of one or the other two languages. Closing date: 26 March 2010.
