3. Epidemiologist (Vaccinology) for GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals, Belgium
The job holder should coordinate and provide technical expertise for the design, implementation, analysis, and interpretation of epidemiologic studies on burden of disease, vaccine safety, vaccine effectiveness/impact and other types of studies, write and review study proposals, protocols, reports, conference abstracts, and manuscripts for publications in peer-reviewed journals, develop and negotiate research plans with external collaborators in academia, public health organizations, and contract research organizations, etc.
Candidates should be MD or PharmD and with Master’s Degree (MS or MPH) or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Epidemiology (European Programme of Intervention Epidemiology (EPIET) or Epidemic Intelligence Officer (EIS) training) and 2-5 years of experience working in infectious diseases and/or vaccine-related epidemiology, OR PhD Epidemiologist with 2-5 years of working experience in infectious diseases and/ or vaccine-related epidemiology. Further requirements include among others the basic ability to understand the business of Epidemiology in the pharmaceutical industry and its role in vaccine development, good oral and written communication skills, excellent knowledge of spoken and written English and knowledge of French other languages are a plus.
