The person appointed will work on studies of the epidemiology and control of malaria in Sub Saharan Africa including a trial of the efficacy of a new malaria vaccine candidate, studies of intermittent preventive treatment in children, and studies of the delivery of effective malaria treatment. The postholder will contribute to study design, management of data and statistical analysis of results, and the preparation of research findings for publication. The post is based in London, with occasional visits to field sites being required. The successful candidate will also provide technical support to scientists based in the project sites, contribute to the School’s postgraduate teaching programme, and will have the opportunity to pursue methodological research arising from the group’s activities. Applicants should have a qualification in epidemiology or statistics, preferably to PhD level.
