4. Assistant professor for the International Centre for Reproductive Health, Ghent University, Belgium

The job holder will lead research teams in the fields of reproductive health and HIV/STI, conduct scientific research in the fields of reproductive health and HIV/STI, supervise and support researchers in elaborating research proposals and applying for funding, supervise and support PhD and Masters students within the faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Ghent University, contribute to education in the department and spend a minimum of 70% of the time on scientific research.
Candidates requirements: Medical Doctor or Masters diploma in public health, medical sciences or epidemiology (or equal), PhD at the moment of appointment, min. 5 years of experience in international research in the field of reproductive/public health and/or HIV/STI, experience in development of research protocols and project proposals for research funding, prepared to lead research teams in the fields of reproductive health and HIV/STI and to guide young researchers in their research work, publications in peer reviewed journals with a broad distribution, experience in teaching and explicit interest in guiding students in their academic education, and a working knowledge of Dutch language.
