5. EPICENTRE recruits 3 EPIDEMIOLOGISTS, Paris, France
Epicentre is a non-profit organization, created in 1987 by Médecins Sans Frontières, whose activities include research, field epidemiology and training. The Department of Epidemiology and Population Health conducts primarily operational research focusing on population-based studies in nutrition, mental health, vaccine preventable diseases and diarrheal diseases. The Department has four fulltime medical epidemiologists, one biologist and oversight of a research base in Maradi, Niger.
Under the supervision of Epicentre’s Director of Epidemiology and Population Health, the epidemiologist: is responsible for the development and management of research projects, most frequently conducted with Médecins Sans Frontières; participates in Epicentre’s activities and interventions related to field epidemiology and training; assists Médecins Sans Frontières’ field teams in the monitoring of health programs.
