5. Senior International Health Specialist at the Burnet Institute, Melbourne, Australia
The Senior International Health Specialist will be responsible for providing technical advice & direction to the AusAID funded China-Australia Health & HIV/AIDS Facility (CAHHF) and to other bilateral, multilateral, and NGO projects, both current and planned, focusing particularly on the Asian and Pacific regions, conducting short-term technical consultancies overseas commissioned by CIH partner agencies, contributing to CIH’s post-graduate teaching program in international health, contributing to the documentation and advocacy functions of CIH, and contributing actively in the shared leadership framework of the Centre specifically aligned to the skills and experience of the incumbent.
Candidates should, among other things, have extensive experience working in the health sector in resource poor settings including an understanding and experience of broader “health systems” policy, planning and reform issues such as health financing and health workforce issues as well as post graduate qualifications in public health, health management, international development or a related area.
