August 23-26 2010, 2nd Symposium on Food Associated Pathogens, Grythyttan, Sweden

The symposium is intended for scientists, technologists and inspectors in the fields of food safety, HACCP, food microbiology, foodborne infections and intoxications. The symposium will offer internationally acclaimed speakers in the topics Salmonella, Clostridium perfringens, Cl. botulinum, Cl. difficile, Staphylococcus aureus, STEC/VTEC/EHEC, Bacillus cereus, Yersinia enterocolitica, Y. pseudotuberculosis, Campylobacter jejuni/coli, Listeria monocytogenes, virus and food associated antibiotic resistance.
The symposium will also include free reports and posters. In Grythyttan you will find School of Hospitality, Culinary Arts & Meal Science, Örebro University. The scientific part of the symposium will take place in the Nordic Centre of Culinary Arts, former Swedish pavilion at the 1992 world exhibition in Sevilla. This event will give us the opportunity to celebrate the discovery of Listeria monocytogenes in 1910. The discoverer was the Swedish veterinarian, professor in food hygiene, parasitology and bacteriology at the Royal College of Veterinary Medicine 1923 1949, Gustav Hülphers.
