EAN Outreach Project
The EAN outreach project aims to encourage wider participation in ESCAIDE by encouraging presenters from countries that have been relatively under-represented in past ESCAIDE meetings (outreach countries). One aspect of this encouragement is giving priority to presenters from outreach countries in the allocation of EAN travel grants. The country of presenter is defined as the country specified in the affiliation given for that author in the abstract.
Current outreach countries are listed below:
- Turkey
- Hungary
- Romania
- Bulgaria
- Croatia
- TFYR Macedonia
- Cyprus
- Estonia
- Latvia
- Malta
- Slovakia
The general scoring system described in assessment criteria will be used to decide who will receive the travel grants outreach grants.
In addition to the sites listed above, outreach grants will be also be advertised through direct approach to state epidemiologists and other contacts in outreach countries, via a letter from the EAN Board encouraging abstract submission and offering support in abstract editing if needed.
