*International Consultant for Malaria Surveillance and Information System
in Lao PDR, Ministry of Health – Centre for Malariology, Parasitology and
Entomology (CMPE), Vientiane, Lao PDR*: The scope of this TA will largely
focus on the remapping and restratification exercise done in 2008. The
proposal takes into account the need to strengthen and build capacity
through on the job training and capacity building for the NMCP (CMPE)
epidemiology and provincial staff during course of TA contract period. This
includes hands-on-trainings on data collection; data entry into GIS based
software, integration of entomological inputs, and inputting data from other
ministry’s surveillance database etc. The development and piloting of an
Early Warning System (EWS) will be the first for the national malaria
control programme in Laos of which technical staff do not have the expertise
currently.
