1) *STOP Polio volunteers, global opportunities*: The STOP volunteers
provide a range of technical support: conducting field surveillance for
polio, training local health care providers in surveillance, planning and
monitoring polio and measles vaccination campaigns. In addition, volunteers
have assisted with establishing and enhancing data management systems for
disease surveillance in selected countries. And since 2006, volunteers have
also supported UNICEF in communications and social mobilization in Africa
and Asia. The STOP program continues to need qualified public health staff
and other individuals that can make a 5½ month commitment as a STOP
volunteer. STOP teams receive 2 weeks of intensive trainings directly from
the immunization experts from the CDC, WHO, and UNICEF to reinforce and
update team members on polio eradication strategies. During the 5½ month
volunteer assignment, STOP team members will have the opportunity to work
closely with representatives from Ministries of Health, WHO, UNICEF, local
communities at the district level, the Canadian Public Health Association
(CPHA), as well as the CDC to build international bridges and global
connections among public health professionals and organizations.

2) *Lecturer, Sydney Institute for Emerging Diseases and Bio security*:
In this role you will: develop research and capacity building programs in
one or more developing countries undertake clinical/epidemiological
research in an area of importance to emerging infectious diseases, teach
undergraduates and postgraduates in infectious diseases and public health
and supervise research higher degree students, curriculum development and
management of modules in Masters programs in Public health, communicable
diseases/global health, short courses, and professional courses
